John was mixing lime dust into a concrete mixer. The mixer had a pocket of air
in it. As the mixer turned the air shot out, spraying John's eyes and face
with lime dust. Lime dust is corrosive, similar to acid. When one gets acid in
the eyes it can be washed out. However with lime dust it continues to eat into
the eyes, even after hours of eye cleansing.
This is what happened to John.
Despite hours at the hospital having his eyes washed the dust continued to
burn into his eyes. On top of this John did not get treatment until hours
after the accident. The dust ate through the protective coating and
into the cornea of his eyes. John was unable to see. The doctor said
that his condition was very serious, and that he might need a cornea
transplant. But even so a transplant may not take.
Late that night John's
distraught family called our home and asked for prayer. We prayed in accord
with Scripture that "the prayer of faith offered for the sick man will
raise him up..." We were unable to go and visit John. But God is
mighty. Healing does not depend on us, but on God. "And my God shall
supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ
Jesus." Our answers to prayer are according to His heavenly riches.
Praise the Lord it is God who works on our behalf meeting our needs.
John miraculously
received his sight back over the next two days, with no damage to his eyes.
ALL THE GLORY TO GOD.
"Say to those who
are of a fearful heart, "Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will
come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save
you."
Then the eyes of
the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; then shall
the lame man leap like a hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing for joy.
For waters shall break
forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert;" Isaiah
